How it works

  1. Upload your video

Choose a clip or drop it on the preview. Use an MP4, MOV or WebM your browser can play, vertical or horizontal. Nothing is uploaded to a server; the effect is drawn on your device with WebGL.

  2. Pick the ghost and the look

Set how the ghost moves, how many appear, their size and color. Then pick a grade such as Halloween, Thermal cam or Silent horror, and add scene layers like fog, bats and lightning.

  3. Export and post

Unlock Pro to export. Your clip plays once while recording, including supported original audio. Save an MP4 or WebM, depending on your browser. Keep this tab visible until it finishes.

How the thermal look works

Real thermal cameras show heat, not light. Ghost Filter imitates that from your video's brightness and warm colors: skin, lamps and orange or red objects glow yellow and white, while cool walls and floors fall to purple and black. The picture is softened the way low-resolution infrared sensors are, and any ghosts in the frame are colored by the same heat palette.

The Camera overlay adds what viewers expect from a thermal camera: a crosshair with a spot temperature, a color scale and MAX/MIN readings. The numbers are decorative, not measurements.

Tips for convincing thermal clips

  • Film people in cool surroundings. A person in a dim hallway or outdoors at night stands out the most.
  • Keep grade strength at 90–100% so no original color shows through.
  • Add a ghost and glowing eyes for a ghost-hunting clip, or set ghosts to 0 for a pure thermal look.
  • Turn Candle flicker off. Thermal cameras don't flicker.
  • Want the green version instead? Use Night vision on the paranormal video maker.

Questions about the ghost filter

Is this a real thermal camera?

No. It is a visual effect that imitates a thermal palette from ordinary video. It cannot measure temperature or detect anything.

Can I hide the temperature overlay?

Yes. Uncheck Camera overlay under Video look to keep only the heat-map colors.

Is Ghost Filter free?

Creating and previewing are free. Every export requires Pro, priced at $9.99 USD once, with no subscription.

Are my videos uploaded?

No. Your browser draws and records the effects on your device. We do not receive your source or exported videos.

Which formats can I use?

Choose a video your browser can play, such as MP4, MOV or WebM. The export format is MP4 or WebM depending on browser recording support, up to 1280 pixels on the long edge. Preview your own clip first.

How do exports and purchase recovery work?

Export records your clip in real time; keep this tab visible. Save your private recovery code when buying Pro so you can restore the purchase in another browser. Refunds revoke access.
