How it works

  1. Upload your video

Choose a clip or drop it on the preview. Use an MP4, MOV or WebM your browser can play, vertical or horizontal. Nothing is uploaded to a server; the effect is drawn on your device with WebGL.

  2. Pick the ghost and the look

Set how the ghost moves, how many appear, their size and color. Then pick a grade such as Halloween, Thermal cam or Silent horror, and add scene layers like fog, bats and lightning.

  3. Export and post

Unlock Pro to export. Your clip plays once while recording, including supported original audio. Save an MP4 or WebM, depending on your browser. Keep this tab visible until it finishes.

How the fog is made

The fog is generated in your browser frame by frame from layered noise, so it never loops or repeats. It stays low, in roughly the bottom two-thirds of the frame, and is densest near the floor. Each wisp is tinted by the light around it: fog near a warm lamp turns warm, fog in a blue night scene turns blue. People, ghosts and jack-o'-lanterns stay visible inside it.

Use Scene intensity to go from a thin haze (around 30%) to a thick, knee-high bank (90–100%).

Where fog works best

  • Static shots with visible floor or ground: hallways, yards, porches, stages.
  • Night or dim scenes: fog reads brighter than its surroundings.
  • Combine it with lightning so the fog flashes with every strike, or with jack-o'-lanterns for warm light inside the fog.
  • Moving camera? Keep intensity lower. The fog is anchored to the frame, not the ground.

Questions about the ghost filter

Is the fog a stock overlay video?

No. It is generated on your device in real time, so it fits any aspect ratio and length without loops.

Can fog cover the whole frame?

It is designed as ground fog and fades out toward the top so faces stay visible.

Is Ghost Filter free?

Creating and previewing are free. Every export requires Pro, priced at $9.99 USD once, with no subscription.

Are my videos uploaded?

No. Your browser draws and records the effects on your device. We do not receive your source or exported videos.

Which formats can I use?

Choose a video your browser can play, such as MP4, MOV or WebM. The export format is MP4 or WebM depending on browser recording support, up to 1280 pixels on the long edge. Preview your own clip first.

How do exports and purchase recovery work?

Export records your clip in real time; keep this tab visible. Save your private recovery code when buying Pro so you can restore the purchase in another browser. Refunds revoke access.
